Do I need a referral?

No. A referral from a Medical Practitioner is only required if you intend on claiming a rebate from Medicare. For further information, see Fees and Rebates. 

Am I eligible to claim a rebate?

Yes. If you have a referral from a Medical Practitioner you may be eligible for a rebate from Medicare. Alternatively, you may claim a rebate from your Private Health Insurer. For further information, see
